DC Parent Voice and Choice Week
Every year PAVE parent leaders have hosted DC Parent Voice and Choice Week (DCPVCW)!
DCPVCW is a week-long event where Parent Leaders invite and meet with DC’s elected leaders including the the Mayor, At-Large and Ward-based Councilmembers and the Council Chairperson, and policymakers like the Deputy Mayor for Education.
At PAVE, we believe you cannot have true choice WITHOUT parents having a voice, so Parent Leaders chair meetings, write their own questions for decision makers on their #PolicyPriorities, and parents share their stories and perspectives with the people chosen to represent them.
The #PurpleWave was present this year as parent leaders came together in community to share their vision for their 2024-2025 #ParentPriorities: Safe Passage to School and Specialized School Programs!
