How parent leaders shifted the work in 2020-2021!
At the Third-Annual PAVE Parent Policy Summit in 2019, 166 parent leaders selected Mental Health Supports and Trauma-informed Training in Schools and Specialized School Programming as their top priorities for 2019-2020.
However, as the pandemic worsened in our nation in March of 2020, it created an unprecedented crisis within the District of Columbia. This required an unprecedented response and an unprecedented commitment to long-term recovery – all of which needed to be centered in equitably and comprehensively addressing the needs of kids and families.
And so parent leaders got to work!
