Here’s why today’s Day of Action is CRUCIAL…

Starting this week, members of the DC Council will begin the budget markup process for the FY23 budget, a time when Councilmembers meet to discuss how funds can be shifted within and between their agencies and make recommendations for priorities that they want to see invested in.

While Mayor Bowser and the DC Council have prioritized our SBMH program in the past, we MUST and we CAN do more for our kids. That’s why parent leaders created clear policy solutions to continue building on this work.

For SBMH supports we must:

Right-size grant amounts for Community-Based Organization (CBO) clinicians to be $80k per clinician with an investment of $2.4 million.
Provide at least $300,000 to fund a cost study to determine the correct cost of the SBMH program - now and in the future
